Thoracic Oncology Program

Dedicated to serving patients with cancers within the chest.

The Thoracic Oncology Program, a cooperative endeavor between the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University Health Care offers consultation, diagnosis and treatment for all chest cancers.  The Thoracic Program's multidisciplinary team of specialists including surgeons, oncologists, pulmonologists, pathologists, radiation oncologithe Universitysts and radiologists provide consultations along with diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with tumors involving the:

  • lungs
  • esophagus
  • chest wall
  • trachea
  • medastium
  • heart

Treatment modalities are directed toward each individual patient and may include one or more of the following:

  • Surgery (including minimal invasive surgery)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation/Radiotherapy
  • Radiofrequency Ablation
  • Clinical Trial Participation
